The Philly Muffin is our signature item and the product on which we founded our company. After realizing that there had been no real innovation to the English muffin since Samuel Bath Thomas first developed his muffin in 1880, our founding baker decided it was time for a reformulation. The Philly Muffin is a square shaped English muffin with excellent flavor and texture which provides a sturdy base on which to build a sandwich. Air pockets fill this soft bread to resemble the traditional "nooks and crannies" found in a regular English muffin.
Our Philly Muffin is available is the following flavors: Original, Everything, Cinnamon Raisin, and house-milled Heirloom Wheat.
The best bagels have the right balance of chew, softness, crust, and subtle malty sweetness. To achieve that balance, you must retard the dough overnight and gelatinize the exterior of the bagel just before baking. Without taking these steps, you would end up with a roll shaped like a bagel. Our bagels have an excellently blistered crust and just the right amount of spring inside. We believe that we produce Philadelphia's finest bagel which is sure to make any hardcore New Yorker swoon.
Our Bagels are available in the following flavors: Plain, Everything, Poppy, Onion, Sesame, Cinnamon Raisin, and Maldon Salt.
When scoping out the competition, this is the product by which we judge all other bakeries (so you better believe ours are good). A Philly Bread baguette stands out with a flavor that is neither bland nor overbearing with a perfect blistery crust. As per tradition, we incorporate a ripe "poolish" preferment into the final dough. The poolish adds incredible flavor and improves shelf life. We go a step further by retarding the baguette dough overnight before baking it off in a French deck oven.
Our Baguette is available in Plain or Seeded and only in a full 22" size. A 22"
Philly Burger Bun
We created our Burger Bun with the vegan customer in mind, but in such a way that our non-vegan customers wouldn't even notice. The richness of milk, eggs, and butter run the risk of competing with the main elements of the dish. Our bun contains no animal products yet remain soft, subtly sweet, and flavorful.
Our Philly Burger Bun is available in either full size or as a slider.
Philly Pullman Loaves
Our Philly Pullman Loaf is a stunning example of the classic Pain de Mie. Our signature stiff white dough forms this beautiful loaf. We either bake this dough "as is" or, in the case of our variants, we fold in a multigrain porridge or cinnamon, sugar, and raisins. These loaves are a match for any meal, available sliced and good for grilled cheese, French toast and everything in between.
Our Philly Pullman Loaves are available lidded only and in the following flavors: Cinnamon Raisin, Multigrain, Rye, and Vegan "Brioche." They can be ordered whole or sliced in your choice of 1/2" or 3/4" slices.
Philly Heritage Breads
Our Heritage Line pays homage to the ancient hearth bread which forms the foundation of the modern bakery.
Our Philly Focaccia is baked with house-infused herbed oil and finished with fresh cracked black pepper, Maldon Sea Salt, and Rosemary. The Philly Focaccia is available in two flavors: Original and Caramelized Onion.
Our Philly Ciabatta is a simple peasant bread which we consider to be our lunchtime workhorse. Our Ciabatta provides a suitable base on which to build one heck of a sandwich, but is versatile and can be served at any meal.
Our Philly Free Form Table Loaf is the quintessential communal bread and is perfect for any meal. Along with our Ciabatta, this loaf serves well at meals requiring a rustic sandwich bread.
